Skoda Kushaq Onyx 1.0 TSI AT Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 13.49 Lakh

The Skoda Kushaq Onyx 1.0 TSI AT is now the most affordable automatic in the Kushaq lineup. Priced at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom), it offers a good mix of features and affordability. Competing in India’s competitive compact SUV segment, Skoda aims to provide better value to customers.

New Automatic Variant Details

In March 2023, Skoda launched the Kushaq Onyx Edition, positioned between the base Active and Ambition trims. Initially, it was available with a 1.0L TSI engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox. As of June 2024, Skoda has introduced a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, complete with paddle shifters.

Pricing and Comparison

The Onyx 1.0 TSI AT, priced at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom), is now the cheapest automatic variant in the Kushaq range. It is Rs 2.35 lakh cheaper than the previous most affordable automatic variant, the Ambition 1.0 TSI AT, which costs Rs 15.84 lakh (ex-showroom).

Onyx Edition Features

The Onyx Edition is known for its unique wheel covers, Crystalline LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights, and an automatic climate control system called "Climatronic". It also includes premium textile mats, scuff plates, and an Onyx badge on the B-pillars.

Engine Specifications

The Onyx 1.0 TSI AT retains the same 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, producing 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre TSI engine is not available in lower trims like Onyx.

Safety Features

The Kushaq boasts a 5-star Global NCAP crash rating. Safety features include electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, multi-collision braking, hill hold control, traction control, brake disc wiping, rollover protection, multiple airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, anti-theft alarm, and rear parking camera and sensors.
