Skoda Compact SUV To Be Launched In 2025: Likely To Feature Eco-Friendly Interior
Skoda is preparing to introduce a new compact SUV in India, set to debut by early next year and be available for purchase very soon after its debut. This upcoming model will utilise a shortened version of the MQB A0 IN platform, which also supports the Kushaq, Slavia, Virtus, and Taigun. The compact SUV will share several components with these models while incorporating unique features.
Design
The new Skoda compact SUV will draw design inspiration from recent models like the Epiq concept. Spy images suggest that its silhouette will resemble the Kushaq and Slavia, particularly in the interior. Shared elements include the steering wheel, gear knob, instrument cluster, and HVAC controls.

Moreover, the front doors of this compact SUV are expected to be identical to those on the Kushaq, but the rear doors will be shorter due to the vehicle being approximately 230mm shorter overall. The rear overhang of this new model will be tighter than that of the Kushaq to ensure it stays under four metres in length.
Interior
Inside, Skoda plans to use recycled materials for some parts of the interior-a first for a mainstream carmaker in India. The SUV will also feature alloy wheels, LED lighting, auto climate control, multiple touchscreen infotainment options, and cooled seats in higher variants.

Engine and Performance
Under the bonnet, the upcoming Skoda compact SUV will house a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with 114bhp and 250Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This setup aims to provide a balanced performance suitable for urban driving conditions.
Market Positioning and Competition
Once launched, this upcoming Skoda compact SUV will compete with models like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite. To make prices competitive, Skoda aims for 75 per cent localisation in production.

DriveSpark Thinks
This upcoming SUV signifies Skoda's commitment to innovation and sustainability within India's automotive market. By integrating recycled materials into their interiors and focusing on localisation, they aim to offer an eco-friendly yet competitive product.
Skoda's strategy includes leveraging existing platforms while introducing new design elements and features tailored to Indian consumers. This approach helps maintain cost efficiency while delivering modern amenities.
