Skoda Enhances Kushaq & Slavia: Six Airbags Now Becomes Part Of Standard Equipment
Skoda Auto India has recently announced an important update for its Kushaq and Slavia models. As part of the MY24 updates for the India 2.0 product portfolio, the company now includes six airbags as standard across all variants of these two models.
This move not only enhances the safety features of the vehicles but also sets a new standard in the segment. The inclusion of six airbags across the entire range of the Kushaq and Slavia models marks a significant step in Skoda's commitment to safety.

Previously, the company offered dual frontal airbags on the lower trims and six airbags on the more exclusive variants. Now, from the Active trim to the Elegance Edition, all variants will feature this enhanced safety package.
Safety & Feature Updates
Both the Kushaq and Slavia have received a 5 5-star rating at Global NCAP, excelling in both adult and child occupant tests. The additional airbags are part of several updates introduced at the end of 2023, which also included segment-first features.
The pricing for the Kushaq starts at Rs 11.99 lakh, and the Slavia at Rs 11.64 lakh, ex-showroom, with no changes despite the added features. The models share an engine lineup, including a 1.0-liter TSI and a 1.5-liter TSI, with transmission options ranging from a 6-speed manual and automatic to a 7-speed DSG.

The Kushaq and Slavia are both based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, tailored for India but ready for global markets. Their top variants recently saw updates like powered seats, illuminated footwell, and a 25.40cm infotainment screen with Skoda Play Apps, among others. These features, previously exclusive to top trims, are now available from the Ambition trim upwards.
Future Enhancements & Facelifts
Skoda is not stopping here. The company is already working on facelifts for the Kushaq and Slavia, slated for release around mid-2025. These updates are expected to include Level 2 ADAS, addressing the gap with competitors like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and others in the sedan segments.
The planned safety package may also feature a 360-degree parking camera, electric parking brake, front parking sensors, and possibly a panoramic sunroof, maintaining the same engine lineup.

DriveSpark Thinks
The introduction of six airbags as a standard feature across all variants of the Kushaq and Slavia is a clear indication of Skoda's focus on safety and customer well-being. With these updates, Skoda aims to not only meet but exceed customer expectations in terms of safety, features, and value for money.
