SBI FASTag Design To Streamline Toll Payments: All Details Here
State Bank of India (SBI) has unveiled new design for its FASTag, aimed at reducing time for commuters. According to a press release, "The bank has introduced a new design for SBI FASTag in the Vehicle Class (VC-04) category. The advanced FASTag design enhances vehicle identification and toll collection efficiency aimed at reducing travel time for millions of commuters in India."
Benefits of the New SBI FASTag Design
The updated FASTag design offers several advantages. It improves vehicle identification, making it easier for toll plaza operators to accurately identify vehicles. This enhancement helps prevent incorrect toll charges, thereby reducing chargeback cases and increasing revenue for both the government and toll concessionaires. Additionally, the streamlined process facilitates quicker toll payments, cutting down wait times for commuters.

SBI's new FASTag is specifically designed for Vehicle Class 4 (VC-04), which includes cars, jeeps, and vans. This updated design aims to improve vehicle identification and streamline the toll collection process, ultimately reducing travel time for commuters.
Who Can Use the New SBI FASTag?
The new FASTag design is intended exclusively for Vehicle Class 4 vehicles. This category encompasses cars, jeeps, and vans. The enhanced design aims to make toll collection more efficient and reduce travel time.
For those unfamiliar with SBI FASTag, it is a device that uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to make toll payments directly from a linked prepaid or savings account.
Affixed to the windscreen of a vehicle, it allows drivers to pass through toll plazas without stopping for cash transactions. The tag can be purchased from authorised issuers and requires recharging if linked to a prepaid account.
Additional Products Launched by SBI
Alongside the new FASTag design, SBI has also introduced other products. One such product is the MTS RuPay NCMC prepaid card. This card provides a seamless offline payment solution for various transit projects including metro rails, buses, ferries, tolls, and parking.
SBI also launched the OneView mobile application. This app offers a comprehensive platform for managing SBI's NCMC prepaid cards. It makes it easier for customers to top-up, track, and manage their cards efficiently.
DriveSpark Thinks
