Indian Racing Festival 2024: RPPL & JK Tyre Host Maiden Showrun In Srinagar
The Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL), headed by Akhilesh Reddy based out of Hyderabad has partnered with JK Tyres forming the Indian Racing Festival 2024. This is a groundbreaking move for Indian motorsports, including the Indian Racing League (IRL) and the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship (JKNRC).
The Indian Racing Festival is set to commence by the end of this year and is stated to have five rounds in each class (IRL and JKNRC) for a total of 10 races per season.

As a part of the Indian Racing Festival’s promotion of motorsports, the organizers have planned roadshows throughout the nation. The inaugural event was kicked off in Srinagar in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Tourism, against the backdrop of Dal Lake.
The 'paradise on earth’, Srinagar, known for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage provided the perfect backdrop for this historical event. Spectators at the event were treated to a sneak peek of the excitement that will come when the season begins, showcasing the WOLF GB08 cars and the Formula 4 cars over a 1.6km stretch of the Dal Lake, driven by IRL 2023 champion, Sohil Shah; Formula 4 vice-champion, Rishon Rajeev; and Indian Formula 4 driver, Shriya Lohia.

The event included breathtaking drift shows by India’s drift king (DK) Sanam Sekhon, and drifting champion, Pratik Dalal. However, stealing the limelight were the young karting kids, aged just 10, who showcased their talents at speeds reaching 120 km/hr.
Mr Akhilesh Reddy, the Chairman of Racing Promotions Private Limited, stated that the event marks a significant milestone for motorsports in India, he believes that it will inspire the youth of J&K to explore the world of motorsport and envision a future in the industry.

Mr Sanjay Sharma, Head-Motorsport, JK Tyre & Industries, stated similar sentiments, saying, “We are thrilled to bring the Indian Racing Festival to Srinagar. This collaboration between JK Tyre National Racing Championship and RPPL's Indian Racing Festival heralds a new era for Indian motorsport. By introducing international standards to the domestic racing circuit, the festival aims to unearth local talent and propel them to the global stage.”
