Rolls-Royce And Chichester Festival Theatre Celebrate Continued Partnership With 2024 Gala

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrates its 21st year of partnership with the Chichester Festival Theatre (CFT). This collaboration highlights the brand's dedication to supporting the local community and broader region. The company sponsored the 2024 Summer Gala, featuring a special performance of the musical Oliver! to raise funds for the theatre's outreach initiatives.

Andrew Ball, Head of Corporate Relations and Heritage at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, remarked on the longstanding relationship: "Our support for Chichester Festival Theatre (CFT) began in 2003, the same year we first launched the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood. As well as staging truly world-class productions, CFT does amazing work bringing theatre’s unique opportunities for personal development, confidence building, teamwork and sheer joy to local young people facing huge life challenges. As a company, we see ourselves reflected in CFT: a relatively small group of people, closely connected to their local community, working at the very pinnacle of their art and with an influence and reputation that extends around the world. It’s a pleasure to be embarking on the third decade of this wonderful partnership."

Rolls-Royce & CFT: A Partnership into 2024

The 2024 Summer Gala featured a revival of Oliver!, directed by Sir Matthew Bourne and produced by Sir Cameron Mackintosh. The event included a private dinner with cast members and raised funds for youth theatre bursaries. Liz McCarthy-Nield, Director of Development at CFT, expressed gratitude: "We are delighted to continue our Platinum Partnership with Rolls Royce Motor Cars, and were especially pleased to have the marque’s support as our Summer Gala Sponsor. Following a hugely successful run of Oliver! this summer, CFT was thrilled to host the sold-out Gala performance. Proceeds raised from the Summer Gala will support bursaries for disadvantaged young people to take part in our youth theatre and other creative projects, enabling access to all the transformative benefits of theatre. We are incredibly grateful to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars for generously supporting this event."

Chichester Festival Theatre was established in 1962 under Sir Laurence Olivier's artistic direction. Funded by local businesses and individuals' donations, it now attracts over 350,000 visitors annually during its Festival Season from April to October and its Winter season.

The partnership between Rolls-Royce and CFT began in 2003 when Rolls-Royce launched its Goodwood headquarters. This collaboration has grown over two decades into a significant relationship benefiting both parties.

Economic Impact

An independent study by the London School of Economics & Political Science revealed that since its establishment at Goodwood in 2003, Rolls-Royce has contributed over £4 billion to the UK economy. Annually, it adds more than £500 million in economic value.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars employs over 2,500 people at its Goodwood facility. This site serves as both global headquarters and Centre of Luxury Manufacturing Excellence where each car is meticulously handcrafted.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is distinct from Rolls-Royce plc., which manufactures aircraft engines. The car manufacturer is a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW Group.

The ongoing partnership between Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and Chichester Festival Theatre exemplifies how corporate support can significantly impact local communities while fostering cultural enrichment.
