Road To World Car 2025 Officially Launched With Exciting Timeline For Awards
The journey to the World Car 2025 Awards has officially begun. This annual event, which started in 2003 and launched in January 2004, aims to reflect the global automotive market. Over 100 respected automotive journalists participate, testing and voting on eligible vehicles for the 2025 awards.
The journey kicks off with today's launch and continues with a stop in Pasadena, California, USA, for the "L.A. Test Drives" media event in November. The World Car Finals Powered by Brembo will start in early January 2025. During this time, the Top 10 World Car of the Year finalists will be revealed alongside the Top 5 finalists in categories like World Electric Vehicle and World Luxury Car.
In March 2025, excitement builds as the finalists are narrowed down to the Top Three in each category. The winners will be announced virtually. The grand finale live awards ceremony will occur at the New York International Auto Show on April 16th, 2025. This event marks two decades of collaboration between the New York Auto Show and the World Car Awards.
The New York International Auto Show is North America's first and largest-attended auto show. It showcases new ideas and technological innovations with nearly 1,000 new cars and trucks on display. The show is organised by the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association each spring in Manhattan.
The World Car Awards aim to recognise excellence, leadership, and innovation in a rapidly changing automotive industry worldwide. Each year, new or redesigned vehicles available on multiple continents are evaluated to determine winners across various categories such as World Car Design and World Performance Car.
Now celebrating its 21st year, the awards have been recognised as the top program globally for media reach for twelve consecutive years. They complement existing national and regional Car of the Year programs rather than compete with them.
