Renault India Marks A First By Driving Entire Range To Umling La Pass
Renault India has set a new benchmark by becoming the first car manufacturer to take its entire vehicle lineup to Umling La Top, the highest motorable road in the world. The much-anticipated drive across Leh, Ladakh, began on 29th August 2024.
The journey covered over 1,000 kilometres through Ladakh's challenging terrains, showcasing Renault India's versatile range of vehicles. This included the Renault Kiger, Kwid, and Triber. The expedition highlighted the durability and performance of Renault's vehicles in some of the most demanding driving conditions globally.

Renault's Commitment to Adventure
Mr Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director of Renault India Operations, expressed his excitement about the drive. He stated, "We are extremely proud to be the first OEM to bring our entire product range to Umling La pass, showcasing the true spirit of adventure that defines Renault."
The drive started from Leh and passed through notable locations such as Chang La pass, Pangong Tso, Hanle, and finally Umling La pass. Participants enjoyed stunning views of Ladakh's natural beauty. A stop at Hanle provided a rare chance for stargazing under one of Earth's clearest skies.
Technological Advancements in Renault Vehicles
The Kwid stands out with an 8-inch touchscreen Media NAV system on its RXL(O) variant, making it the most affordable hatchback with this feature in its segment. All variants now include a rear seatbelt reminder for enhanced safety. With over 14 standard safety features, Kwid offers best-in-class safety. Additionally, the Kwid range introduces the RXL(O) Easy-R AMT variant as the most affordable automatic car in India.
The Triber is designed for Indian families with its spacious and modular build. It includes a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster and wireless charger among other technological updates. Convenience features like a driver seat armrest and power fold ORVMs enhance its appeal. The Triber is positioned as India's most affordable automatic 7-seater vehicle.
Kiger: Elevating Driving Experience
The Kiger enhances driving comfort with semi-leatherette seats and a leatherette steering wheel. New features include auto fold ORVMs and a bezel-less auto dim IRVM. The TURBO engine variant now has red brake callipers. The lineup also expands with new RXL and RXT(O) variants offering more choices for customers.
