Renault Bigster SUV Teaser Out: Check Out All The Details Here
Renault is gearing up for the release of its 3-row Bigster SUV, a larger variant of the new-generation Duster. The Bigster will make its debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, scheduled from October 14-20. This model is expected to boost sales for Renault and its partner company, Dacia, alongside the new Duster.
The Bigster will be showcased with Dacia branding at the Paris event. Teasers have confirmed its name and hinted at design similarities with the new-gen Duster. However, the Bigster will stand out due to its increased length of 4,600 mm compared to the Duster's 4,343 mm. This positions it against competitors like Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.

Dacia's teasers reveal that the Bigster will feature V-shaped tail lamps similar to those on the new-gen Duster. There are slight modifications to the rear tailgate, and Renault's version may include brand-specific elements such as grille designs and logos. Despite these differences, both models will share many metal body parts.
The Bigster will share much of its equipment with the new-gen Duster, as both are built on the CMF-B platform. Common components include body panels, dashboards, seats, and steering wheels. Engine options for the Bigster remain unconfirmed but are likely to mirror those of the Duster: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine.
Depending on market demand, the Bigster will offer both 4X2 and 4X4 configurations. It promises dynamic performance through various terrain modes like Snow, Off-road, Mud/Sand, Auto, and Eco. These features aim to enhance driving versatility across different conditions.
In India, Renault plans to launch the Bigster following the introduction of the new-gen Duster in late 2025. The gap between these launches is expected to be around six months. Nissan also intends to release its versions of these models in India with distinct styling elements.
The Renault-Nissan alliance in India is set to introduce additional sibling models that might include electric vehicles (EVs). These upcoming releases are crucial for boosting domestic sales for both companies in India's competitive automotive market.
Renault's strategic rollout of these SUVs highlights their commitment to expanding their presence in international markets while catering to diverse consumer preferences with innovative designs and features.
