Renault Bigster Could Be A Game-Changer – Everything We Know So Far About The Duster 7-Seater
The Renault Duster will make a comeback to India, but what is even more interesting is that there will also be a Duster 7-seater version coming to India. This 7-seater version of the Renault Duster SUV will be named Bigster. However, we are not sure if this upcoming model will retain this name when it gets launched in India.
The launch of the Renault Duster SUV is much-awaited and we expect this upcoming 7-seater model from the French automaker to further shake up the SUV segment in India. That being said, here is everything we know so far about the Renault Bigster / Duster 7-seater.

Design & Size
The upcoming Renault Bigster SUV is likely to share a few design elements with the Duster SUV, however, we wouldn't be surprised to see more premium bits on the former to justify it premium positioning.
Also, the upcoming Renault Bigster SUV is around 300mm longer than the Duster SUV to ensure better seating on the third row. The model is also expected to feature a longer wheelbase compared to the Duster SUV.

Interior
The upcoming Renault Bigster SUV will share many design elements with the Duster SUV, including the dashboard. Also, like the Duster SUV, the Bigster SUV also features an infotainment unit that is slightly tilted towards the driver.
That being said, we expect the top-spec version of the Renault Bigster SUV to come with features such as ADAS, ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery, 360-degree surround-view camera, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof and much more.

Platform
The upcoming Renault Bigster SUV not only shares design elements with the Duster SUV, but it also shares the Duster's new CMF-B platform. This platform has spawned numerous successful models sporting Renault, Dacia, and Nissan badges.
The new Duster using this platform is slightly longer than its predecessor at 4.34 metres long and the boot space stands at 472 litres. As such, we expect the 4.6 metre-long Renault Bigster to offer even more boot space with its 3rd row folded.

Powertrain
The new-gen Renault Duster is said to be offered with at least 3 engine options. Out of these three engine options, two engine options are electrified. Moreover, the 1.6-litre engine gets not one but two electric motors as well.
This 1.6-litre engine also uses a 1.2kWh battery pack and comes exclusively with an automatic gearbox. Thanks to this battery pack and the pair of electric motors, the Duster SUV with this powertrain can commute in full EV mode.
The next engine option is a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with 128bhp. This engine also comes with electrification but in the form of a 48V starter motor. The last option is a 1.0-litre, petrol-LPG powertrain, which will be available in certain markets such as Poland.
Looking at these options, the Indian-spec Renault Duster SUV is expected to get the mild-hybrid 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 48V starter motor. Also, this engine is likely to be offered with both automatic and manual transmission options.
