Rainforest Challenge Goa Kicked Off: 7 Days Of Pure Thrills!
The 10th edition of the Rainforest Challenge (RFC) India, the country's premier off-road motorsport event, has commenced in Goa. Organised by Delhi-based Cougar Motorsport with approvals from Goa Tourism, RFC India 2024 is scheduled from 19th to 26th July.
This year, 26 teams featuring top off-roaders from across India will compete. Winners will be announced on 26th July, with the top three drivers earning free entry to the RFC Global Series 2024 Finale in Malaysia.
RFC India was introduced by Cougar Motorsport in 2014 as the Indian chapter of Malaysia's Rainforest Challenge, which ranks among the world's top 10 toughest motor races and top 5 toughest off-road races. The event has regional chapters in over 30 countries and has become India's most prestigious off-road motorsport competition.
Environmental Stewardship
Held annually in Goa for the past nine years, RFC India takes place outside protected forests and wildlife sanctuaries, avoiding public roads. The event is conducted on private sites with strict environmental guidelines.
No standing trees are cut or damaged, vehicles must meet emission and noise standards, and no garbage is left at campsites. An environmental steward ensures compliance, and monitoring teams from the Department of Tourism visit each year.
During RFC India 2024, participants will face various challenges testing their driving skills, vehicle recovery abilities, physical and mental resilience, and teamwork under extreme conditions.
Each team comprises a driver and co-driver who will tackle 26 Special Stages (SS) throughout the week-long competition in specially prepared 4-wheel drive vehicles. The team with the highest points after all SS will be crowned RFC India 2024 Champions.

In addition to support from Goa Tourism, several industry leaders have partnered with Cougar Motorsport for RFC India 2024. Isuzu Motors India serves as the Mobility Partner, COMEUP Winch is an Associate Sponsor, while BMC Air Filter and Lamda are also Sponsors. BrutForce is the communication partner of the event, and Taan is the Hydration Partner.
