RADwood UK 2024 Unveils Classic Cars And Retro Gaming Extravaganza
RADwood UK 2024 will be held at the Chatham Historic Dockyard on Saturday, 7th September. The event will feature iconic RAD cars such as the Porsche 959, Ferrari F40 LM, and Lamborghini Countach. Visitors can also see RAD-era vehicles like the Golf GTi alongside their 2024 counterparts in the RAD to the Future area. Additionally, classic arcade games like Outrun and Sega Rally will be available for free play. Tickets start at £25 and are available now.
Bicester Heritage: 16th August 2024 - RADwood is a celebration of 1980s and 1990s cars and culture. This motorshow combines power suits with horsepower, hi-tops with hot hatches. Hagerty has confirmed the line-up for RADwood UK 2024, which will take place at Chatham Historic Dockyards in Kent on 7 September. Expect a festival featuring fabulous cars from the Eighties and Nineties, along with music, fashion, and entertainment from that era.
There are four main display areas at RADwood UK: Star Cars, RAD to the Future collection, Show N Shine competition entrants, and RAD display cars. Some of the most exotic automobiles from the RADwood era will be showcased, including a BMW 850 CSi, Ferrari F355, Honda NSX, Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbeau, and everyone's favourite Athena poster car, the Lamborghini Countach.
The RAD to the Future area highlights automotive progress over the years by displaying classic cars from 1984 alongside their modern equivalents from 2024. Visitors can compare pairs of Minis, Golf GTis, Lotus models, and even Ford Capris from both eras.
The Show N Shine competition will feature 50 entrants in a dedicated display zone. Judges Joe Ward from White Goods Racing and Faye Young will evaluate side skirts and three-spoked wheels to select a winner. Drivers arriving in period-correct cars can park in another dedicated display area with other RAD vehicles.
Dressing up in Eighties or Nineties attire is encouraged at RADwood UK. However, guests who forget their retro outfits can purchase vintage clothing from Rokit Vintage in the main boathouse. There’s even an award for the best-dressed guest.
Entertainment and Tickets
The sounds of the RADwood years will be available at a record fair where visitors can find vinyl records of Depeche Mode albums, RunDMC cassettes, or BritPop MiniDiscs. The video game arcade will feature games like Outrun, Sega Rally, and Streetfighter set to freeplay mode.
General admission tickets cost £25 per car or £15 for a motorcycle. This includes entry to the display area if you’re driving something RAD. For £35, you can enter your car in the Show N Shine competition; however, only 50 slots are available.
