Radical Motorsport Announces Exciting Upgrades For SR3 And SR10 XXR Models For 2025
Radical Motorsport has introduced several upgrades for its 2025 model year race cars, focusing on safety, reliability, performance, and personalisation. These updates apply to the SR10 XXR and SR3 XXR models, with some enhancements available for earlier versions. Customers can secure their 2025 race cars at 2024 prices.
New seating options have been developed to prioritise safety. The Radical research and development team designed an all-new carbon single seat featuring an integrated wrap-around headrest. This seat is made from pre-impregnated carbon fibre, making it stronger and lighter than its predecessor. It is available in left-hand drive, right-hand drive, and centre-hand drive configurations.
For those who prefer twin seats for driver coaching or passenger rides, safety has been improved with Kevlar inserts and stronger seat mounts. Additionally, new harnesses enhance driver comfort and offer four colour choices for further personalisation.
The Radical Motorsport team continually seeks to improve reliability based on customer feedback. Advanced computer modelling identifies potential weaknesses, which are then tested in both virtual and real-world environments. For instance, a redesigned bellhousing on the SR10 XXR reduces the risk of cracking significantly.
The front splitter has also been reverse-engineered using new production techniques and aerospace-grade epoxy resin. This results in a more durable component with better fitment compared to the previous version.
Performance Enhancements
Radical Motorsport's engineering expertise in aerodynamics has led to performance improvements that reduce lap times. By altering the radius of the SR10 XXR sidepods, they achieved a 2.5 per cent shift in balance towards the front axle at high speeds, reducing understeer and tyre scrub in corners.
The steering rack ratio was changed from 1:43:1 to 1:71:1 to lessen driver effort, reducing fatigue while increasing comfort and enjoyment. A new lightweight flywheel and clutch provide quicker blip response and smoother downshifts, reducing rear axle shift-locking and shortening brake zone duration.
Personalisation Options
Radical offers various personalisation options that allow customers to customise their cars without affecting performance. Custom bodywork colours are available, along with lightweight Braid wheels that can be painted to match the body colour. Inside the car, drivers can choose from different colour harnesses.
Additional customisation includes factory-applied custom-designed liveries. Once completed and quality inspected, each car undergoes a photoshoot before being shipped to its final destination through Radical's extensive dealer network spanning over 20 countries.
