Putin Strengthens Russia-North Korea Relations: Gifts Aurus Senat To Kim Jong Un

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently visited North Korea for the first time in 24 years to strengthen ties with Kim Jong Un. During this visit, Putin gifted Kim a Russian-made luxury limousine, the Aurus Senat. Following their meeting, both leaders took a test drive in the opulent vehicle, with images of the event circulating widely on social media.

A video from Russian state TV shows Putin driving a black armoured Aurus, which is also his official presidential car, with Kim Jong Un seated beside him. This is not Kim's first Aurus limousine; he received his initial one from Putin in February, making this his second such vehicle.

Aurus Senat: Engine & Specifications

The Aurus Senat comes in three versions: Standard Senat, Senat Long, and Senat Limousine. Each model is fully armoured and features a hybrid 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 593bhp and 880Nm of peak torque. These specifications highlight the vehicle's blend of luxury and performance.

While specific details about Kim Jong Un's new car are not confirmed, it is expected to be similar to those used by other world leaders, including Putin. The Aurus boasts advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), an emergency braking system, emergency call support, eight modes of back LED lighting, a wireless phone charger, and WiFi among other amenities.

Manufacturing & Expansion

Aurus Motors began manufacturing its cars in Russia's Tatarstan region in 2021. Recently, a senior Russian official announced that production would also commence at a former Toyota factory in St. Petersburg this year. This expansion marks a significant step for the company.

The Aurus Senat's luxurious features and robust performance make it a preferred choice for many world leaders. Its armoured build ensures maximum security while offering top-tier comfort and technology. The vehicle's hybrid engine combines power with efficiency, making it a standout in its class.

DriveSpark Thinks

Putin's gesture of gifting the Aurus Senat to Kim Jong Un underscores the strengthening relationship between Russia and North Korea. The test drive they took together symbolises their mutual commitment to enhancing strategic alliances.

The Aurus Senat is not just a symbol of luxury but also of diplomatic goodwill. By presenting this high-end vehicle to Kim Jong Un, Putin has made a statement about the importance of their bilateral relations.
