India's Latest Hybrid Supercars: Eco-Friendly Meets High Performance

Global automakers are increasingly merging sustainability with high performance, focusing on hybrid technology even for high-performance vehicles. In India, the luxury car market is expanding rapidly, leading to the introduction of several powerful hybrid cars. This trend shows a growing preference for eco-friendly yet powerful options among Indian consumers.

Lamborghini Revuelto

Among these new entries is the Lamborghini Revuelto, priced from Rs 8.89 crores (ex-showroom). Replacing the Aventador as Lamborghini's flagship model, it is the company's first series-production hybrid supercar.

The Revuelto features a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine paired with three electric motors and a 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Together, they produce 1,015 hp and 807 Nm of torque.

The Lamborghini Revuelto comes with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Lamborghini claims it can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 kmph.

Ferrari 296 GTS

Next on the list is the Ferrari 296 GTS, priced at Rs 6.24 crores (ex-showroom). This convertible version of the 296 GTB shares the same powertrain as its coupe counterpart.

It is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 830 hp and 740 Nm of torque. The Ferrari 296 GTS can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 330 kmph, according to Ferrari.

McLaren Artura

The McLaren Artura, priced at Rs 5.2 crores (ex-showroom), marks McLaren's first V6 engine vehicle and its third hybrid model after the P1 and Speedtail. The Artura features a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an electric motor, generating a total output of 680 hp and 720 Nm of torque.

This model includes an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. It also has a 7.4 kWh battery pack that offers an electric-only range of up to 31 km and can be charged from zero to eighty percent in about two and a half hours.

McLaren claims that Artura can accelerate from zero to one hundred kmph in three seconds and reach a top speed of three hundred thirty kmph.

Mercedes-AMG GT63 SE Performance

The Mercedes-AMG GT63 SE Performance follows next, priced at Rs 3.3 crores (ex-showroom). This four-door coupe is Mercedes-AMG's first plug-in hybrid and their most powerful production vehicle to date. It features a twin-turbocharged four-litre V8 petrol engine paired with an axle-mounted two hundred four hp electric motor at the rear.

Together, they produce eight hundred forty-three hp and one thousand four hundred seventy Nm of torque. Mercedes claims this coupe can accelerate from zero to one hundred kmph in two point nine seconds and has a top speed of three hundred sixteen kmph.

Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid

The Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid rounds out this list, priced from Rs one point three five crores (ex-showroom). It combines a three-litre V6 engine with an electric motor to produce four hundred seventy hp in total output.

This model features a twenty-five point nine kWh battery that provides an electric-only range of up to ninety km. The eleven kW onboard charger can recharge the battery in about two point five hours.

These new hybrid models reflect India's growing interest in combining high performance with environmental responsibility in luxury vehicles. Indian consumers are increasingly seeking out sustainable options in the automotive industry.
