2024 Porsche Taycan Update: New Prices And Performance Upgrades In India
Porsche has announced the prices for its updated Taycan facelift electric sportscar in India, with the 4S and Turbo variants priced at Rs 1.89 crore and Rs 2.53 crore, respectively. The company unveiled the Taycan facelift globally in February this year, but prices for the full lineup and the Cross Turismo estate version have not been disclosed yet.
The exterior and interior updates are subtle, including new LED headlamps, redesigned bumpers, aero-optimised wheels, and software updates for the digital driver's display and infotainment unit.
Porsche Taycan Facelift Powertrain and battery improvements
The Taycan facelift features a new 800V architecture, making both models more powerful and faster. The rear axle motor has received significant updates, producing up to 109hp more than before, depending on the model.
All motors are lighter and have revised internals for better efficiency and increased power. The 4S variant has a dual motor setup that generates a combined 517hp of power (598hp with overboost function) and 695Nm of peak torque. The Turbo variant also uses a dual motor setup with an output of 707hp (884hp with overboost function) and 890Nm of torque.
Both variants use a single-speed transmission for the front axle and a two-speed transmission for the rear axle. Adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard on both variants, while the Turbo variant also gets Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and Sport Chrono package as standard.
The Taycan facelift features new batteries with revised cell chemistry. The gross capacity of the larger Performance Battery Plus on the Turbo variant has increased from 93.4kWh to 105kWh, while the 4S model's battery has been upgraded to 89kWh from 79.2kWh.
Porsche claims a range of 503km-590km for the 89kWh battery and 579km-678km for the 105kWh battery on the WLTP cycle, with an 11kW on-board AC charger provided as standard.
