Porsche Reports Q3 2024 U.S. Retail Sales: Strong Demand Amid Model Line Renewals
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) reported a total of 19,350 car deliveries in the U.S. during the third quarter of 2024. This marks a 3.2% decline from the same period last year due to model line updates affecting supply. Despite this, demand for models like the 718, 911, and Cayenne remained robust, showing significant year-over-year growth.
Overall sales for PCNA saw a 4% decrease compared to the previous year. The introduction of new models such as the Macan and Taycan is still in its early stages. Timo Resch, President and CEO of PCNA, stated, "This is a strong result driven by sustained US demand." He highlighted that the positive momentum was achieved despite several model lines being refreshed.

The Macan emerged as the top-selling model in Q3 with 5,989 units delivered. The Cayenne followed closely with 5,339 units, while the iconic 911 saw 4,121 deliveries. Notably, sales of the 911 increased by 36.9% compared to Q3 2023. The 718 also experienced a substantial rise in sales with a 36.4% increase over the same period.
In addition to new car sales, Porsche's Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program showed impressive results in Q3 with 10,962 units sold in the U.S. Year-to-date CPO sales reached 31,427 units, reflecting a 10% increase from last year.
Looking ahead to Q4, PCNA anticipates significant arrivals of new models including the Taycan, Macan, 911, and Panamera PHEV. Resch expressed optimism about these upcoming releases positioning Porsche well for future success.
The third quarter sales period spanned from July 1 to September 30, 2024. PCNA adheres to the U.S. Auto Industry Sales Release Schedule provided by Motor Intelligence.
