Porsche Motorsports North America Celebrates Nearly 2,000 Racing Entries In Successful 2024 Season
Porsche's 2024 racing season was remarkable, with its cars dominating professional sports car racing. Across 132 races, Porsche vehicles secured 50 victories in open class competitions. These wins were achieved using the 963 prototype, the 911 GT3 R, and the 718 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport on various tracks nationwide.
In a significant year for Porsche Motorsports North America (PMNA) and its customer teams, over 200 Porsches participated in 1,958 entries across professional and pro-am races. These events were sanctioned by organisations like IMSA, SRO America, and USAC. The impressive number of entries highlights Porsche's strong presence in motorsport.

The Porsche Carrera Cup North America remains a top-tier one-make championship. In 2024, it featured 534 entries across its 16-race series. This championship usually coincides with IMSA events but also included six races during three Formula 1 World Championship weekends.
Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama is an ideal entry point for aspiring racers. It complements the Porsche Carrera Cup North America as part of the Porsche pyramid. This structure guides drivers towards elite sports car racing levels, including the prototype 963.
Volker Holzmeyer, CEO of PMNA, expressed gratitude to customer teams and PMNA staff for their efforts. "The sheer volume of entries tells a story on its own," he said. "We always say customer racing is the heart of Porsche Motorsport, and this year’s results are a perfect example of that."
Expanding Opportunities for Racers
PMNA continued to support racers advancing through different levels of competition. In total, there were 1,108 entries in events like the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama and the new-for-2024 Porsche Endurance Challenge North America.
The largest gathering of Porsche race cars occurred at Road America in August. Here, 203 cars participated in various challenges such as the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America and West divisions.
Holzmeyer also highlighted the successful launch of the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America. He stated: "I’m especially proud that we were able to launch the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America this year, and that it was a resounding success with our customers."
