Porsche Carrera Cup North America Prepares For Thrilling Race Weekend At Atlanta's Michelin Raceway

The Porsche Carrera Cup North America is nearing the end of its 2024 season with two race weekends left. The competition has been fierce, and the 2.54-mile Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is a challenging venue. Twelve out of 16 rounds are done, with rounds 13 and 14 set for October 9-12 during the Petit Le Mans weekend in Georgia.

Loek Hartog from the Netherlands leads the Pro class but hasn't secured the championship yet. Driving the No. 24 Racing For Children's Kellymoss Porsche, Hartog has seven wins and three podiums, totaling 262 points. He is ahead of Alex Sedgwick from PT Autosport JDX Racing by 76 points and Ryan Yardley from Topp Racing Performance by 95 points.

Porsche Carrera Cup Returns to Atlanta for Racing

The Pro-Am class remains highly competitive this year. Alan Metni from Austin, Texas, leads after winning two races in Indianapolis with his No. 99 Kellymoss Porsche. He holds a slim three-point lead over Moisey Uretsky from Miami, Florida, driving the No. 44 Baby Bull Racing car. Marco Cirone from Canada is five points behind Metni after losing his lead in Indianapolis.

Matt Halcome from Dallas, Georgia, leads the Masters class but faces increasing competition as the season concludes. Driving the No. 55 ACI Motorsports Porsche, Halcome is ahead by 41 points over Chris Bellomo from Portola Valley, California, who drives a Kellymoss-prepared Porsche.

The schedule for October includes practice sessions on October 9 and qualifying on October 10. The first race will occur on October 10 at 5:05 p.m., followed by the second race on October 11 at 10:55 a.m., all times Eastern.

Road Atlanta is a significant track for this series, having hosted finales in its first two seasons in 2021 and 2022. Seb Priaulx won twice here in 2021 to clinch the Al Holbert Cup as overall champion. Parker Thompson secured his title with a win here in 2022.

This year’s championship finale will again take place at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, during the United States Grand Prix Formula One weekend from October 18-20.
