Porsche Unveils 911 Turbo 50 Years Edition To Mark Iconic Model's Anniversary

Porsche is marking the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo with a special edition model. Named the "911 Turbo 50 Years," this exclusive version blends high performance with luxurious materials and unique styling. The car's design incorporates elements from historic 911 Turbo models, enhanced by timeless and elegant features. An optional Heritage Design Package further enriches its appearance.

The 911 Turbo 50 Years is based on the current 2025 911 Turbo S (992.1) and will be limited to just 1,974 units worldwide, honouring the year the original 911 Turbo debuted. The car's exterior includes standard decals inspired by the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo shown in 1973. For the first time on a 911, it features Turbonite, a colour exclusive to Porsche Turbo models.

Additional exterior details include Anthracite Grey paint on the rear wing, lower rear fascia, exterior mirror base, and air intake grilles. A badge on the rear decklid grille displays a turbocharger icon along with "1974-2024." LED lights in the doors project a turbocharger icon onto the ground when opened. The car also comes with 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels painted in Turbonite.

The interior of the 911 Turbo 50 Years pays homage to early Porsche models with seat centres and inner door panels upholstered in "MacKenzie" tartan. Contrasting elements in Turbonite add distinction from the standard model, including seat belts, stitching, trim pieces in black leather, and the Porsche crest on the steering wheel.

Door sill guards feature an illuminated "turbo 50" designation, which is also stitched into headrests of Adaptive Sport Seats Plus. An aluminium plaque above the glove compartment shows "turbo 50" and each model's unique number. The dashboard includes a Porsche Design sub-second clock in a specific "turbo 50" design.

Heritage Design Package

The optional Heritage Design Package adds more exclusive features inspired by 1970s models. It uses Aventurine Green Metallic as its base colour and includes high-quality decals in white silk matte. These decals consist of three elements: a lollipop with a selectable number between 0 and 99, "50 Years turbo," and "Porsche" designations.

The package also offers Sport Classic Wheels painted in brilliant silver and white with historic Porsche crests from 1964 on their centre caps. Interior enhancements include extended leather surfaces and additional tartan design elements on dashboard trim, glove compartment, and seat back inlays.

Performance Specifications

The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years boasts a powerful performance based on the current 2025 model. Its 3.7-litre boxer engine with VTG-twin-turbocharging delivers an impressive output of 640 hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. With a curb weight of 3,649 lbs., it achieves a power-to-weight ratio of 5.7 lbs per hp.

This special edition accelerates from zero to sixty mph in just 2.6 seconds. Standard equipment includes an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK), active all-wheel drive (PTM), and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). Additional features include a sport exhaust system with black tailpipes, PASM sport suspension lowered by ten mm, front-axle lift system, tinted LED Matrix headlights with Dynamic Light System Plus, and black brake calipers.

Exclusive Chronograph

Porsche Design has created an exclusive timepiece for owners of this special edition model: the Chronograph 911 Turbo 50 Years. Limited to just 1,974 examples like the car itself, this watch combines classic design with modern technology. It features a COSC-certified calibre WERK01.200 movement with flyback function.

The watch face mirrors elements found in Turbonite on the car's dashboard clock while its strap uses black leather from the vehicle's interior with contrasting stitching in Turbonite. The titanium case has an engraved limitation number matching that of each vehicle.

Pricing and Availability

The limited-production anniversary model is available for order now at an MSRP of $261,100 plus $1,995 for delivery processing and handling fees. It is expected to arrive at U.S Porsche Centres late in2024.

This special edition commemorates five decades of innovation while offering enthusiasts an opportunity to own a piece of automotive history.
