The 911 GT3 has been a blend of racing pedigree and everyday usability since 1999. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, two new versions are launching together: a track-focused model with a rear wing and a subtler Touring Package. These variants offer more customisation than ever, with tailored packages and innovative options to suit individual preferences.

Atlanta. The latest 911 GT3 marks its 25th year with enhanced lightweight features, a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre engine producing 502 hp, and new customer-centric options. The new 911 GT3 models boast refined aerodynamics with redesigned front diffusers, spoiler lips, and underbody air guides to boost downforce and airflow. Matrix Design LED headlights consolidate light functions, eliminating extra lights in the front fascia for a streamlined look.

Porsche's special teardrop-shaped trailing arms on the double-wishbone front axle enhance downforce at high speeds and improve brake cooling. The lower placement of the front ball joint creates an anti-dive effect, reducing pitching during braking for consistent aerodynamic balance.

The Touring Package traces back to the 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 and has been part of the GT3 lineup since 2017. It omits the fixed wing for a classic silhouette while maintaining aerodynamic balance through an active rear spoiler with a Gurney flap.

Inside, the previous Touring Package offered distinct high-quality leather upholstery options. This concept expands in the new model, now offering optional rear seats for the first time, fulfilling long-standing customer requests.

Lightweight Innovations

The new 911 GT3 embraces lightweight design for agile handling. Silver-coloured aluminium wheels reduce unsprung mass by about 3.3 lbs compared to before. Optional magnesium wheels save around 20 lbs more, while a new lithium-ion battery cuts another roughly 9.9 lbs.

The engine meets stricter exhaust standards with two particulate filters and four catalytic converters while maintaining its signature sound up to 9,000 rpm. Optimisations include camshaft profiles from the GT3 RS and revised cylinder heads.

Performance Enhancements

The seven-speed PDK and six-speed manual transmissions both feature an eight percent shorter final drive ratio than their predecessor. The new GT3 accelerates to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds with PDK or reaches a top speed of 195 mph with manual transmission.

"On winding country roads, you can clearly feel that the steering is even better tuned than its predecessor," says Porsche brand ambassador Walter Röhrl.

Advanced Interior Features

A new lightweight bucket seat option includes CFRP construction with folding backrests for improved ergonomics when wearing helmets on track days. Alternatively, customers can choose the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with extensive adjustability.

The cockpit design aligns with current 911 models but retains a rotary ignition switch instead of a button start. The digital instrument panel offers clear displays, including "Track Screen" mode for essential data during performance driving.

Customisation Options

Porsche offers various equipment packages for both GT3 models. The Weissach Package includes CFRP components like anti-roll bars and mirror shells for reduced weight and enhanced performance aesthetics.

The Lightweight Package for the Touring variant features CFRP elements painted in exterior colours alongside forged magnesium wheels and lightweight door panels.

Exclusive Timepiece

Porsche Design crafted an exclusive chronograph for GT3 owners that mirrors the car's design ethos on the wrist. It features COSC-certified movement within an ultra-light titanium case available in various finishes matching vehicle configurations.

"The new 911 GT3 has become even more exhilarating and individual," states Andreas Preuninger, Head of GT Cars.
