Porsche's 718 Boxster, Cayman And Macan Achieve Recognition In Car And Driver's 10Best Awards
The Porsche 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman, and Macan have been honoured with the Car and Driver 10Best awards. These accolades highlight Porsche's enduring reputation in the automotive industry. The 718 Boxster and Cayman models have consistently impressed, earning this recognition for the 20th consecutive year. Notably, the Boxster has received this award 26 times since its debut, underscoring its prominence over four decades.
Joe Lorio, Deputy Editor for Reviews at Car and Driver, praised these models, stating: "The 10Best-winning Boxster and Cayman are tactile, scintillating driver’s cars that elevate even a mundane errand into something special." This sentiment reflects the vehicles' ability to transform everyday driving into an extraordinary experience. The Macan also shares this distinction, being named a 10Best winner for the eighth time since its introduction.
Tony Quiroga, Editor-in-Chief at Car and Driver, expressed admiration for the Macan by saying: "Drive the Macan and you’ll be convinced that Porsche has somehow hidden a sports car under the Macan’s SUV shape." This statement captures the unique blend of performance and practicality that defines the Macan.
The Car and Driver 10Best awards involve a rigorous evaluation process. The editorial team assesses all significant new vehicles priced at $110,000 or less over two weeks. They focus on cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs that offer exceptional value and driving experiences. From nearly 100 contenders, only ten vehicles are chosen for both the 10Best Cars and 10Best Trucks and SUVs categories.
Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, expressed gratitude for these achievements: "We are honored that both the 718 and Macan have established themselves as firm favorites with the judges of the 10Best awards – an achievement we never take for granted." He emphasized how Car and Driver's focus on value aligns with Porsche's core values.
