Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor Variant Starts Production In The US With Certified Range Of 350 Miles
Polestar has begun manufacturing the Long range Single motor version of its flagship SUV, the Polestar 3, in Charleston, South Carolina. This model boasts an EPA-certified range of up to 350 miles and is priced from USD 67,500. The production marks a significant step towards making this full-size electric SUV more accessible to North American customers.
The Long range Single motor Polestar 3 retains the same 111 kWh battery pack as its Dual motor counterpart. It also offers a peak charging capability of 250 kW, allowing for a quick DC charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. This ensures that customers can enjoy extended driving ranges with minimal downtime.
This variant exclusively powers the rear axle, delivering 299 hp (220 kW) and 361 lb-ft of torque. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 7.8 seconds. The braking system is consistent across the Polestar 3 range, utilising Brembo brakes for effective stopping power.
Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, stated: "With the start of production of our Long range Single motor Polestar 3 in the US, we will now begin to deliver this car directly to North American customers. This new entry-point for our full-sized flagship electric SUV means Polestar 3 is now accessible to even more consumers than before, while still offering the dynamic and luxury hallmarks of our Dual motor versions."
Customers can personalise their vehicles with various options. Choices include six exterior colours, five interior designs, and four wheel options such as new 21-inch alloy wheels available with the Pro Pack. Additional features like a Bowers & Wilkins audio system and Nappa leather are also offered.
The Long range Single motor model maintains performance traits similar to those found in Dual motor versions. A sophisticated passive damper system enhances ride comfort and control using Hydraulic Rebound Stops (HRS) and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD), ensuring a dynamic driving experience.
