Pininfarina Morgan Midsummer Roadster Revealed - Limited To Just 50 Units
British sports car manufacturer, Morgan, has teamed up with the renowned Mahindra-onwned Italian design house, Pininfarina, to unveil the Morgan Midsummer roadster. This limited edition two-seater open-top masterpiece, is limited to just 50 units, all of which are already sold out.
The inspiration behind the Midsummer name is two-fold claim Morgan and Pininfarina with the limited run car being name firstly after Midsummer which indicates the height of the summer, the perfect time for a roadster like this. The second inspiration for the name is Midsummer Hill, which forms part of the Malvern Hills, which is where Morgan is based.

The Morgan Midsummer's design draws inspiration from the elegance and style of 1930s and 40s racing cars. The limited edition roadster reinterprets the classic Morgan silhouette and blends it seamlessly with Pininfarina’s iconic design.
The Midsummer's body is crafted from hand-beaten aluminium panels. Pininfarina has introduced piano key-inspired louvres on the bonnet and redone the front wings (compared to the regular Morgans) to help enhance the aerodynamics of this retro-inspired roadster.

The rear deck has been elongated and this is very noticeable when you sit the Midsummer next to the Morgan Plus Six it shares its underpinnings with. The Morgan Midsummer sits on lightweight forged 19-inch wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres which show the right amount of sidewall for that classic look.
The Midsummer uses wood in the upper parts of the doors which is visible both outside and inside the car. The interior boasts hand-formed sculpted panels made from sustainably sourced teak wood, centered around the console. Other highlights of the interior include the analogue dials, a forged aluminium steering wheel, and a high-fi sound system from German audio gurus Sennheiser.

At its core, the Morgan Midsummer is built on the British firm's latest CX-Generation bonded aluminium platform. Powering the Midsummer is a BMW turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 335bhp and 500Nm in the Plus Six model and Morgan hasn't revealed any details about the powerplant being tweaked for the Midsummer.
Production of the Morgan Midsummer is scheduled to begin later this year and will continue in 2025. Morgan and Pininfarina will build each of the 50 Midsummers to the exact specification of its owner, ensuring each individual car is as bespoke as it gets.
