Parkopedia Enhances EV Charging Experience For BMW And MINI Drivers With New Features
Parkopedia has expanded its partnership with BMW Group to enhance the EV charging experience for drivers. This collaboration now includes additional Point of Interest (POI) data, featuring photos and ratings of charging locations. The new data aims to help drivers make informed decisions about where to charge their vehicles.
The service, which already covers Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria, and Switzerland, now includes Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Further market expansions are planned to meet the global demand for improved EV charging information.
Parkopedia's latest features provide essential details such as the precise location of chargers, charging speed, connector type, and dynamic data on availability and operational status. This comprehensive information helps alleviate the stress associated with finding suitable charging points.
According to the 2023 Parkopedia Global Driver Survey, over 90% of EV drivers experience anxiety about charging. Additionally, 60% of respondents consider accurate charging information as "very important" or "extremely important." The survey also revealed that 77% of drivers prefer vehicles that offer detailed public EV charging information and navigation capabilities.
Hans Puvogel, Parkopedia COO, commented on the new features: "We recognise the charging anxiety facing EV drivers today when searching for suitable charging locations. We are pleased to offer new functionality to simplify the charging process. Today, more than 90% of EV drivers feel anxious about charging, with 44% having run out of charge."
Puvogel added that nearly half of drivers who are hesitant to own an EV cite concerns about finding charging points away from home as a primary reason. He emphasised that this new service with BMW Group demonstrates Parkopedia's commitment to improving the EV charging experience.
Parkopedia plans to integrate verified driver reviews for charging locations soon. This will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information possible for drivers deciding where to charge their vehicles.
