Pagani Huayra Epitome: The First Manual Variant
Pagani Automobili has unveiled the Huayra Epitome, a unique creation from its Grandi Complicazioni division. This one-of-a-kind vehicle exemplifies Pagani's dedication to advancing hypercar technology, prestige, and customisation. The Huayra Epitome represents the pinnacle of Pagani's current road-legal car technology, meticulously tailored to the client's specifications.
The heart of the Huayra Epitome is the Pagani V12 engine, delivering 864 HP (635 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 1,100 Nm of torque. Built by AMG to Pagani's specifications, this 5,980 cc twin-turbocharged engine features a distribution system extending the limiter to 6,700 rpm. This setup offers an exhilarating driving experience. Notably, the Epitome is the first Huayra equipped with a manual transmission for a pure mechanical feel.

Grandi Complicazioni Division
The Grandi Complicazioni division is dedicated to creating ultra-limited series cars with highly complex technologies. Inspired by Haute Horlogerie's Grandes Complications, this division offers endless customisation options. Clients can choose from various concepts, shapes, materials, colours, and finishes. Each detail is designed in total synergy with clients to fulfil their desires and create bespoke masterpieces.
The project began with close collaboration between Pagani and the client. "The client came to us with clear ideas: he wanted to create a unique example that would take the Huayra to its highest expression," said Lorenzo Kerkoc, Head of Pagani Grandi Complicazioni.

"Its name could only be 'Epitome', as the most essential embodiment of a concept, an idea, a value." The initial phase lasted nine months and involved sharing ideas with Horacio Pagani and his team.
Design and Aerodynamics
The Huayra Epitome features a clean and elegant design with custom-made elements tailored to meet specific demands. The front end includes a new bumper with an integrated splitter designed to increase downforce and balance airflow. Exclusive light units enhance both aesthetics and lighting efficiency. The rear hood integrates an oversized wing for improved performance while maintaining elegance.

The lightweight six-way titanium exhaust system creates a captivating sound symphony during acceleration. A button on the central tunnel activates two additional direct outlets designed to generate extra downforce using the blown diffuser principle. The forged aluminium alloy monolithic wheels are inspired by the Imola Coupé from the client's collection and paired with Pirelli P Zero™ Trofeo R tyres for exceptional grip.
Technological Innovations
The Huayra Epitome incorporates advanced technological research focused on suspension geometry to reduce dive during acceleration, pitch during braking, and roll in corners. This allows drivers to brake later into corners for better control and safety. An active suspension system includes a "super soft" button for extra comfort on rough roads; above 150 km/h (93 mph), it returns to normal settings based on driving mode.

The flywheel-clutch unit features a triple-disc clutch for better torque transmission. An electronically managed differential and racing-derived tripod joint system ensure greater engine responsiveness. The seven-speed transverse gearbox by Xtrac transfers power efficiently thanks to an electronically controlled differential and racing-style tri-pod driveshaft.
Pagani Automobili emphasises driving comfort in all its cars, including track models like the Huayra Epitome. The new active suspension system enhances comfort on rough roads while maintaining performance at higher speeds.

This project required ten months of design work by an expert multidisciplinary team after nine months of conceptualisation meetings with the client. Developing components dedicated solely to one car involves as much time as those for series production cars but offers stimulating challenges due to clients' clear visions.
Overall, Pagani Automobili's Huayra Epitome showcases their commitment to innovation in hypercar technology through meticulous customisation processes involving close collaboration with clients.
