Omega Seiki Mobility and Exponent Energy Launch OSM Stream City Qik At Rs 3.25 Lakh – Full Charge In 15 Minute
Omega Seiki Mobility and Ex Energy have teamed up and launched the all-new OSM Stream City Qik electric 3-wheeler in India. This new model is priced at Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and the company claims it is the world's fastest-charging passenger 3-wheeler.
Looking into the claims, the newly launched OSM Stream City Qik electric 3-wheeler requires just 15 minutes to fully charge. Despite the rapid charging speeds, reliability seems to be intact as the company is providing a robust warranty of 2 lakh km or 5 years (whichever comes earlier).
Exponent Energy is set to enhance this offering by setting up 100 charging stations across Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru in 2024, with plans to expand into Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.
The OSM Stream City Qik stands to impact drivers' earnings significantly. Its rapid charging ability means less downtime and more trips, potentially increasing drivers' monthly income by at least 30%.
Uday Narang, the Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, highlighted the vehicle's role in economic empowerment and its potential to uplift drivers' livelihoods by maximising their efficiency on the road.
The new OSM Stream City Qik comes equipped with an 8.8 kWh proprietary battery pack, resulting in an ARAI-certified range of 126 kilometres. This range, combined with rapid charging, addresses the concern of range anxiety, allowing drivers to serve a broader clientele confidently.
Arun Vinayak, Co-founder & CEO of Exponent Energy, emphasized the dual benefits of freedom and earnings this vehicle offers, potentially setting it apart from other electric or ICE vehicles in terms of profitability.
India's demand for passenger three-wheelers is on the rise, with sales hitting over 53,537 units in January 2024 alone, marking a 75% increase year-on-year. The segment is expected to reach a remarkable milestone of half a million units sold in the current fiscal year.
As such, the introduction of the OSM Stream City Qik electric 3-wheeler is timely, addressing the growing need for innovative urban mobility solutions in the rapidly expanding automobile market of India.
