Ola Electric Gears Up To Introduce Electric 3-Wheelers In India
Ola Electric is reportedly gearing up to introduce electric three-wheelers in India, following the success of its electric scooters. The company is currently developing this new vehicle, and a picture of its electric auto on the road has surfaced online. The Ola Electric auto is heavily camouflaged, indicating ongoing rigorous testing before its official launch.
Currently, Mahindra and Mothra, a Tamil Nadu-based company owned by the Murugappa group, sell electric auto-rickshaws in India. Ola Electric is set to compete with them. The leaked spy shots suggest that the Ola Electric auto has a futuristic design. Moreover, the electric auto will feature square-shaped headlights, a large windshield, ORVMs on the A-pillar, and doors for passengers’ safety.

Ola plans to include several new features in the e-auto. Reportedly, it will also include an air conditioning system. Ola is also reportedly planning to offer more space and a luxurious ride experience than other electric autos. Additionally, Ola Electric is considering launching a cargo version apart from the passenger e-auto.
The electric vehicle is expected to be launched within the next 3-4 months under the name 'Raahi', which means traveller in Hindi. This new entry into the market aims to replicate the success Ola Electric has seen with its scooters. Currently, Ola Electric scooters are enjoying immense popularity in India.
Leading companies are struggling to compete with Ola Electric. In this scenario, Ola Electric is entering the electric auto market to compete with electric auto manufacturers. The company previously announced that it would manufacture electric cars as well. But it recently scrapped this plan. The company said it abandoned the project to focus on electric two-wheeler production.
