Norton Motorcycles Announces Global Expansion And New Models At Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2024

Norton Motorcycles, a part of TVS Motor Company Group, has unveiled its ambitious plans for international growth. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, senior leaders Sudarshan Venu, Dr Robert Hentschel, and Richard Arnold shared their vision for the brand's global expansion.

TVS Motor Company has committed £200 million to Norton’s development. This investment covers new product development, facilities, research and development, and high-quality engineering. The company plans to launch six new models over the next three years.

Norton's Global Push with New Models

Norton aims to expand its presence in key markets such as the USA, Germany, France, Italy, and India. This strategy is part of their broader plan to increase sales through local partners in these regions.

Dr Robert Hentschel, CEO of Norton Motorcycles, highlighted the importance of TVS Motor’s support. He said: "The investment in research and development and leadership has us positioned to take six exciting products to countries across the world, with world class quality and scale."

The leadership team at Norton has been bolstered with key appointments. Richard Arnold, former CEO of Manchester United Football Club, has joined as Executive Director. His experience is expected to help Norton capitalise on its growth potential.

Sudarshan Venu emphasised the significance of this phase for Norton. He stated: "Our vision, commitment and investment into the Norton brand is entering an exciting phase. We look forward to sharing that with motorcyclists across the world."

Product Development Insights

Dr Robert Hentschel provided insights into the engineering behind current and upcoming models. The One of One V4SV model was showcased at Goodwood Festival of Speed, inspired by Steve Hislop’s ‘White Charger’.

The state-of-the-art facility in Solihull plays a crucial role in Norton’s revitalised research and development efforts. This facility ensures that new products meet high standards of design and drivability.

Honouring Heritage

This year also marked a significant milestone for Norton as they honoured NMUL customers by fulfilling orders from the previous company. A £2.3 million investment was made into developing and re-engineering the Commando and V4 platforms.

Richard Arnold spoke about Norton’s heritage: "Norton’s heritage is vast, and plays a key part in our development as a global brand. It’s important for us to prioritise our customers, both in the present and the future."

Future Prospects

The future looks promising for Norton with exciting products currently in testing and development stages. Richard Arnold expressed his enthusiasm about expanding availability to new territories: "Bikers around the world will love to ride them and love to own them."

Norton Motorcycles was founded in 1898 and has surpassed 125 years of innovation. Acquired by TVS Motor Company in April 2020, it continues to produce desirable motorcycles from its facility in West Midlands, England.
