Our Top Expectations About The Upcoming Nissan X-Trail SUV
Nissan India recently teased the upcoming latest-generation X-Trail, a premium SUV set to hit the market soon. This upcoming premium SUV could potentially be the answer to Nissan India to boost its brand value, desirability, and sales in the country. That being said, here are our top expectations about the upcoming Nissan X-Trail SUV.
Exterior
The exterior of the fourth-generation X-Trail SUV features a large grille with the brand's V-motion design, split-headlight setup, and LED taillamps. Also, we expect the model to come with 19-inch wheels, and a panoramic sunroof as part of the standard equipment.

Interior & Features
Inside, the Nissan X-Trail SUV boasts a floating touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, three-zone automatic climate control, Bose surround sound system, ADAS, heads-up display, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. We also expect the model to feature leather interiors.

Powertrain
The Nissan X-Trail is likely to be offered in India with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 200PS and 305Nm, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It remains to be seen if Nissan will bring in a hybrid version or offer an AWD variant.

Launch timeline, pricing and competition
The Nissan X-Trail was showcased in India alongside the Qashqai and Juke in November 2022. With its launch expected next month, the SUV will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) under government policy allowing up to 2,500 vehicles per year without homologation.
The Nissan X-Trail is anticipated to be priced between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 35 lakh, competing against the Skoda Kodiaq (CBU), Hyundai Tucson (CKD), and Volkswagen Tiguan (CKD) in the Indian market.
