Nissan X-Trail Launched In India At Rs 49.92 Lakh: A Premium 7-Seater SUV For Indian Roads

Nissan has launched the new X-Trail SUV in India, priced at Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This three-row SUV is imported entirely and comes with a standard 3-year/1 lakh warranty, along with 3 years of free roadside assistance.

The Nissan X-Trail is available in a single variant and is powered by a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine, paired with a CVT gearbox, produces 163hp and 300Nm of torque. It also features Nissan's variable compression technology to optimise performance or fuel efficiency as needed.

Nissan X-Trail: Features and Safety

The X-Trail boasts several features including a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. Additional amenities include a wireless smartphone charger, keyless entry and go, drive modes, electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, and cruise control.

For safety, the X-Trail is equipped with seven airbags, automatic wipers, ABS with EBD, traction control, limited-slip differential, hill-start assist, and front parking sensors. The vehicle offers a 7-seater configuration as standard. The second row has 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding and reclining functions while the third row offers 50/50 split-folding and reclining functions.

Nissan X-Trail: Other Powertrain Highlights

The powertrain of the Nissan X-Trail includes a 12V mild-hybrid system that enhances its overall performance. The shift-by-wire CVT auto gearbox ensures minimal rubberband effect during gear shifts. This combination aims to provide both efficiency and robust performance depending on driving conditions.

Nissan X-Trail Rivals

The X-Trail competes against other premium 7-seater SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster. Notably, the Meridian and Gloster are expected to receive facelifts later this year while the Kodiaq will undergo a generational update in 2025.

Overall, Nissan's new offering in the Indian market aims to attract buyers looking for a feature-rich and safe SUV with competitive performance specifications.
