Nissan X-Trail With 200PS Set For India Launch: Teaser Out
Nissan hinted at the upcoming launch of the updated X-Trail SUV in India through a teaser video. The vehicle was initially showcased in November 2022 alongside the Qashqai and Juke SUVs. The teaser reveals key design elements, including inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, split headlamps, a new grille with horizontal slats and chrome surround, and a front camera.
Exterior and Interior Features
The exterior of the Nissan X-Trail will also include contrast-coloured skid plates, wraparound two-piece taillights, door cladding, rear wiper and washer, integrated spoiler with high-mounted stop lamp, shark-fin antenna, and dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2024 X-Trail will offer a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, dual-tone upholstery, large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, engine start-stop button, digital instrument console, ADAS suite, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function.
Engine and Rivals
The X-Trail is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine combined with an electric motor. Transmission options may be limited to a CVT gearbox. The combined power output for this powertrain stands at 200PS, which is simply astonishing.
Upon launch, the upcoming Nissan X-Trail SUV will compete with models such as the BYD Atto 3, MG Cloud EV, Jeep Compass, and Volkswagen Tiguan. It is worth noting that the 2024 X-Trail will be imported to India via the CBU route.
That being said, Nissan currently sells just one product in India, which is the Nissan Magnite. As such, having a premium SUV in Nissan's product portfolio will once again boost the automaker's brand value in the country by a significant margin.

This added brand value for Nissan not only will increase desirability among potential customers but it is also extremely useful when it comes to launching a more diverse product range in the future.
