Nissan Pathfinder Named Among Best Cars For Car Seats By Cars.com In 2024
The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder has been recognised by Cars.com as one of the top six vehicles for car seats, earning all "A" ratings in their Car Seat Check. This accolade highlights the Pathfinder's spacious interior and user-friendly car seat LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) attachment points.
Cars.com's team of certified child passenger safety technicians evaluated 52 vehicles over the past year. They installed infant, convertible, and high-back booster seats into each vehicle to test their LATCH systems and overall accommodation for different car seats. To achieve an "A" rating, the LATCH system must be easy to access and use, while the vehicle should provide ample room for both the child and car seat without compromising front-seat legroom.

"The Nissan Pathfinder passed Cars.com's car seat testing with flying colors," said Jennifer Geiger, Cars.com news editor and certified child passenger safety technician. "The car seat installation process is quick and convenient, and front-seat occupants will have plenty of legroom even with rear-facing seats installed behind them."
The Pathfinder's cabin is designed to keep families comfortable on both daily commutes and long road trips. It features three rows of seats with standard seating for eight passengers or seven with optional second-row captain's chairs. The EZ FLEX® second-row seats tip forward easily to provide access to the third row, even when a child safety seat is installed, thanks to Nissan's LATCH AND GLIDE™ technology.
Additionally, every Pathfinder comes equipped with Nissan Safety Shield® 360 as standard. This suite of technologies includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking.
Safety Recognition
The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder also received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation for vehicles built after November 2023. This recognition underscores Nissan's commitment to safety and innovation in vehicle design.
Nissan introduced the Snug Kids® program over 20 years ago to help caregivers select a child seat that fits their vehicle properly. The program also provides tips on installing these seats correctly. Information about this program can be found on the Snug Kids® fit guide website.
