Nissan Magnite Achieves 1.5 Lakh Unit Milestone, X-Trail Adds To Growth

The Nissan Magnite, introduced in 2020, has surpassed 1.5 lakh unit sales since its launch. Earlier this year, in February, the Magnite reached one lakh sales in India. This milestone highlights the vehicle's popularity and market acceptance.

In August, Nissan Motor India reported domestic sales of 2,263 units and exports of 8,361 units. This brought the total wholesales for the company to 10,624 units. Domestic sales grew by 0.2 per cent year-on-year, while exports saw a significant increase of 336 per cent YoY.

Nissan's Strategic Focus

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, commented on the company's strategy. He said, "The renewed strategy of Nissan's focus on domestic and exports business is delivering great results for India." He added that the Magnite's success demonstrates how a strong platform and customer-centric approach can yield consistent outcomes.

Interestingly, August marked the highest monthly wholesale for Nissan in FY24 and the highest monthly export volume in five years. This achievement underscores Nissan's growing presence in both domestic and international markets.

New Launch: Nissan X-Trail

Earlier this year, Nissan unveiled the fourth-generation X-Trail. Sales began in August with a starting price of ₹49.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which explains its higher price point.

The X-Trail features a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 12V mild-hybrid system. This setup produces 160 bhp and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. It also includes a continuously variable transmission unit.

Driving Modes and Features

The X-Trail offers three driving modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport. It also includes fuel-saving features like an automatic start/stop system. Unlike some competitors that offer four-wheel drive options, the X-Trail comes standard with front-wheel drive.

This new model aims to compete with established rivals like the Toyota Fortuner by offering advanced technology and robust performance features.

Nissan's recent achievements reflect its strategic focus on both domestic growth and expanding export markets. The success of models like the Magnite and X-Trail showcases Nissan's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
