Nissan Formula E Team Announces Sérgio Sette Câmara As Reserve And Simulator Driver For Season 11
Nissan Formula E Team has announced Sérgio Sette Câmara as their reserve and simulator driver for the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The Brazilian driver, who has been competing full-time in the series for four seasons, will support Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato. His role will involve assisting with the development of the Nissan e-4ORCE 05 GEN3 Evo car.
Sérgio Sette Câmara expressed excitement about joining Nissan, stating, "I'm thrilled to join Nissan Formula E Team. It's always been a goal of mine to work with a big manufacturer in the series, and Nissan took a big step forward in Season 10." He is eager to contribute to the team's progress and attend his home E-Prix in São Paulo.
Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal of Nissan Formula E Team, highlighted Sérgio's experience as crucial. "We're delighted to welcome Sérgio as our reserve and simulator driver for Season 11. He has plenty of experience in the championship and is a very talented racer," Volpe stated. His knowledge will be vital for race preparation.
Nissan entered the all-electric racing scene in Season 5 (2018/19) as the first Japanese manufacturer in Formula E. They have committed to participating through various eras, including Gen3 and Gen4, which extends until 2030. This commitment aligns with their Ambition 2030 electrification goals.
The automaker acquired the e.dams race team in April 2022, taking full control of its participation in Formula E. Additionally, they supply EV powertrain technology to McLaren Racing throughout the Gen3 era. This move underscores their dedication to advancing electric vehicle technology.

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship was certified as having a net zero carbon footprint from its inception in 2020. The series invests in climate-protecting projects across race markets to offset emissions. It serves as a platform for testing cutting-edge electric technology on street circuits worldwide.
