Nissan Formula E Team Forms Long-Term Partnership With Petromin Corporation To Boost Electric Mobility

Nissan Formula E Team has entered a four-year global partnership with Petromin Corporation, a key mobility solutions provider in the Middle East. This collaboration primarily targets Electromin, Petromin's EV charging subsidiary, to boost electric mobility adoption in the region. Building on their existing relationship, Nissan and Petromin aim to advance electric vehicle use through this strategic alliance.

The partnership will leverage the strengths of Nissan, Petromin, Electromin, and Petromin Nissan to promote electric mobility across the Middle East. Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal of Nissan Formula E Team, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. "I'm delighted to announce the partnership between Nissan Formula E Team, Petromin and Electromin," he stated. This partnership aligns with Nissan's broader strategic goals and its Ambition 2030 electrification plan.

Kalyana Sivagnanam, Group CEO of Petromin Corporation, shared his excitement about the partnership. "We are immensely proud to enter this strategic partnership with Nissan Formula E Team as its official global sponsor for the next four years," he said. Electromin will lead the initiative in its first year. This collaboration supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 by accelerating EV technology adoption in the region.

Electromin's branding will be prominently featured on Nissan's e-4ORCE 05 race cars driven by Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato. The branding will also appear on drivers' suits, team kits, and various marketing materials. This visibility aims to enhance Electromin's global brand presence while supporting sustainable mobility initiatives.

Nissan debuted in all-electric racing during Season 5 (2018/19) of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship as the first Japanese manufacturer in the series. By Season 7 (2020/21), Nissan committed long-term to Formula E and embraced the Gen3 era from Season 9 (2022/23) through Season 12 (2025/26). In April 2022, they acquired e.dams race team ownership.

Nissan plans to electrify all new vehicles by early 2030s in key markets as part of its carbon neutrality goal by 2050. They aim to transfer knowledge from racetrack innovations to road vehicles for improved customer experiences. The company races in Formula E to showcase zero-emission electric vehicle excitement globally.

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship achieved net-zero carbon status from inception in 2020 by investing in climate-protecting projects globally.
