Nissan Energy Charge Network Expands Access To 17,800 Tesla Superchargers For ARIYA Drivers

Nissan ARIYA drivers will soon have access to Tesla's Supercharger network starting December 10. Nissan is offering an adapter for this purpose, which can be ordered now. This move will allow ARIYA owners to use 17,800 Tesla Superchargers within the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network (NECN). The NECN now includes over 100,000 public chargers in the US and 25,000 in Canada.

To utilise Tesla Supercharger stations, Nissan EV owners must purchase a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter kit from Nissan. Priced at $235, this kit is available through Nissan dealers and online at NissanUSA.com. From 2025, Nissan plans to equip its EVs for the US and Canadian markets with a NACS port as standard.

Nissan ARIYA Gains Access to Tesla Chargers

The NECN also provides access to other charging networks. In the US, these include Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo. In Canada, drivers can connect to ChargeHub, Shell Recharge, FLO, Chargepoint, Circuit Electrique, BC Hydro, and IVY networks.

The MyNISSAN app offers ARIYA owners real-time information on charging station availability and status. It also allows users to pay for charging sessions directly through the app. This integration simplifies EV ownership by combining vehicle management and public charging into one platform.

While this functionality is not yet available for Nissan LEAF owners, they can still locate charging stations using the NissanConnect EV and Services app. The MyNISSAN app requires users to store a default payment method for easy access at compatible in-network charging stations.

Important Considerations

Nissan clarifies that public charging networks are operated by independent companies with their own policies and conditions. These companies may change or terminate services without notice or liability to Nissan or its partners. Additionally, Nissan is not liable for costs related to equipment or connectivity changes required by third-party chargers.

The NACS Adapter Kit from Nissan is considered the only compatible adapter for their EVs. Using non-compliant adapters is strictly prohibited by Nissan's guidelines.

This expansion of charging options reflects Nissan's commitment to enhancing sustainable mobility solutions for its customers across North America.
