The Nissan ARIYA has been named the UK’s Best Car for Long Distances at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2024. This accolade was determined by the real-world opinions of over 200,000 UK car owners, who participated in an online survey to share their experiences.

The Auto Trader New Car Awards are unique because they rely on feedback from car owners rather than industry insiders. This year, the Nissan ARIYA outperformed competitors like the Volvo XC60 and BMW iX3 to secure the title.

The Nissan ARIYA has received numerous awards since its introduction to the UK market. Organisations such as the Caravan and Motorhome Club, Company Car & Van, and The Car Expert have acknowledged its qualities, including a range of up to 330 miles. It is also a former Auto Express Car of the Year.

Erin Baker, Auto Trader’s Editorial Director, highlighted the ARIYA’s long range, comfort, and sleek design as key factors for its win. One owner described it as a "comfortable long-distance cruiser" with excellent performance and cost-efficiency.

Fiona Mackay, Nissan GB Marketing Director, expressed delight at the award, noting that it is based on real-world opinions from ARIYA owners across the UK. She emphasized that this recognition helps dispel myths about electric vehicles being suitable only for short journeys.

Mackay added that the ARIYA offers a blend of practicality and style, combining the versatility of an SUV with the comfort and design of a premium city car.

Survey Insights

The Auto Trader survey asked car owners to rate their vehicles across 16 categories, including reliability, performance, appearance, and running costs. Participants also shared their overall satisfaction and likelihood of recommending their cars to others.
