Next-Gen Skoda Kodiaq Spotted In India: Bigger, Bolder, & Tech-Loaded
The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq was globally unveiled last October. Recently, the new Kodiaq prototype was seen testing in India, indicating a possible launch here soon. This new model is expected to be larger than the current version and arrive next year. Also, spy shots of the new Skoda Kodiaq reveal significant design updates. The front now features a radar, hinting at the inclusion of ADAS.
The SUV is slightly bigger, with squared-off wheel arches, a prominent hexagonal grille, a sculpted bonnet, a redesigned Skoda logo, and new alloy wheels. The headlamps have also been reworked. At the rear, C-shaped wraparound taillamps are complemented by Skoda lettering in the middle.

While the spy photos do not show the cabin, it is likely to mirror the European-spec Kodiaq. A 13-inch freestanding touchscreen will dominate the dashboard, handling most of the vehicle's functions.
The interior will also boast a fully digital instrument cluster and three new 'smart dials'. The outer rotary knobs manage the climate control for the driver and passengers, while the middle one adjusts the infotainment volume, driving modes, map zoom, and air conditioning.
The next-gen Kodiaq is expected to feature the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine found in the current model. This engine generates 187.5bhp and 320Nm of torque but might be tuned for better performance in the new model. The engine pairs with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, powering all four wheels.

Currently, the Kodiaq is available in a single fully-loaded L&K variant, priced at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With the new features and updates, a price increase is anticipated. Upon its expected launch next year, the new Kodiaq will continue to compete with the Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster, and Toyota Fortuner.
The Kodiaq’s new features and larger size suggest it will offer enhanced comfort and technology. The inclusion of ADAS will add a layer of safety, making it a more appealing option for buyers. The updated engine performance could also attract those looking for a powerful yet refined SUV.
