Next-Gen Honda Amaze Sedan To Be Launched During Festive Season – New Platform, Features & More
Honda is gearing up to introduce the third generation of the Amaze sedan in India. This upcoming third-generation Honda Amaze sedan is slated for launch during the forthcoming festive season.
That being said, the new Honda Amaze sedan promises plenty of updates, including a new platform, updated styling, and plenty of new-gen features. All of this marks a significant shift from the outgoing model which made its entry more than 5 years ago.
According to industry insiders, the upcoming third-gen Honda Amaze will be built on the same platform as the Honda City and Elevate but with a few noticeable modifications including a reduced wheelbase to ensure the sedan's overall length stays under 4 meters.
Thanks to this strategic move involving the use of the same platforms across its model range in India, Honda is ensuring more streamlined production. Moreover, this move could save millions of Rupees in production.
In terms of design, the upcoming Honda Amaze sedan is expected to sport Honda's latest design language, which will make the Amaze look more like the new Honda City sedan.
This upgrade in design will also be reflected in the interior of the third-generation Amaze sedan with a more upmarket-looking dashboard with plenty of modern features including provisions for ADAS tech.
The next-gen Amaze is expected to retain the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine and this engine is expected to deliver around 90bhp and 110Nm of torque. Also, the model will be available with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
When launched, the upcoming Honda Amaze will compete against key players in the segment including the likes of the upcoming all-new Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor, which promises to be a compelling offering in the highly competitive sedan segment.
