Next-Gen Honda Amaze Teased – Sleeker & Upmarket
Honda Cars India has disclosed the design sketch of its upcoming new generation Amaze sedan. The unveiling of this upcoming Honda Amaze sedan is set for December 2024, and looking at the design sketches, it is safe to expect a complete overhaul in terms of the exterior and interior design of the model.
Under the skin, the upcoming Honda Amaze is poised to use the modified platform of the outgoing City sedan. This move will maintain the compact dimensions of the Amaze sedan while benefiting from the lower development cost owing to modification of an existing platform rather than developing an all-new platform.

On the inside, we expect the upcoming Amaze sedan to be a lot more upmarket than the model it replaces. In fact, we expect a dashboard design that is similar to the outgoing City with plenty of emphasis on horizontal sections to accentuate the width of the cabin.
In terms of tech, we expect the top-spec Amaze sedan to feature a large touchscreen infotainment unit, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. We also expect the model to feature auto climate control, sunroof, ventilated seats, cooled glove box, rear ac vents, and much more.
In terms of powertrain, the upcoming Honda Amaze could even feature a slightly de-tuned version of the Honda City's 1.5-litre engine to reduce overall production cost. That being said, as of now, it is safe to expect the retention of the outgoing 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, 4-cylinder engine.
In the outgoing model, this 1.2-litre engine produces a healthy 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. This engine also comes with a choice for either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT gearbox.
When launched, the new-gen Honda Amaze will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, and Hyundai Aura. Moreover, since Maruti Suzuki will also launch its next-gen Dzire, it will be interesting see how the new Amaze fares against it.
That being said, if the upcoming Honda Amaze manages to woo the compact sedan customers in India, we expect the model to significantly boost the overall sales figure of the Japanese automaker in India.
DriveSpark Thinks
Looking at the official sketches from Honda, the next-gen Honda Amaze sure looks very premium and attractive. Moreover, we expect the overall styling to appeal to broader audience. With that, we expect the upcoming Honda Amaze sedan to be a valuable addition to the Japanese automaker's line up in India.
