2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB Launch Today: 5 Highlights & Expectations
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is set to debut today (October 9, 2024) in India. This new model, known for its luxurious features, promises a more elegant design with smoother body lines. The E-Class remains in its long wheelbase form to enhance rear seat comfort. It is now longer than its predecessor, measuring 5092mm in length.
Exterior Enhancements
The exterior of the 2024 E-Class has undergone several updates to enhance its refined look. The front features a new Avantgarde grille with a star pattern, giving it a bold appearance. Redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels and sleek flush door handles add to the side profile's elegance. At the rear, the quarter glass draws inspiration from the Maybach.

The all-LED headlights now have a slimmer design, complemented by 3D star-patterned tail lights connected by a chrome strip. A new Nautic Blue colour option joins the existing palette of High Tech Silver, Graphite Grey, Obsidian Black, and Polar White.
Interior Innovations
Inside, the E-Class introduces an all-new cabin that combines luxury with advanced technology. The dashboard features Mercedes' latest MBUX Superscreen system. This includes a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a 14.4-inch central touchscreen for infotainment. An additional 12.3-inch screen is available for the front passenger.

A unique inward-facing camera above the Superscreen supports video conferencing via apps and allows for cabin selfies but disables while driving for safety reasons. The digital vent control system lets passengers adjust airflow using the touchscreen instead of manual controls.
Rear Seat Comfort
The rear seat experience remains a priority in this model. Electric adjustment of the seat base allows it to rise by up to 40 mm, while the backrest reclines up to 36 degrees for added comfort. Features like separate climate control zones, electronically operated sun blinds, and soft headrests highlight rear-seat luxury.

Engine Specifications
The engine lineup for the 2024 E-Class has changed with only four-cylinder powertrains available now. Both petrol and diesel models feature a 2.0-litre engine equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system providing an extra 27 bhp of power temporarily when needed. Both engines are paired with a refined nine-speed automatic transmission that powers the rear wheels.
Price Expectations
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class is expected to be priced higher than its predecessor which ranged from ₹76.05 lakh to ₹89.15 lakh (ex-showroom). In its new form, it will compete with models like BMW's 5 Series, Audi's A6 and Volvo's S90.
This launch marks another step in Mercedes-Benz India's commitment to offering premium vehicles that blend luxury with cutting-edge technology for discerning customers seeking unparalleled comfort and style on Indian roads.
