New Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB Bookings Likely To Be Opened In September: All Details Here
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan is set to be one of the brand's most significant launches in India this year. Official bookings for the new-generation long-wheelbase (LWB) sedan are expected to open next month. The company has not commented on this yet.
Production of the outgoing E-Class ended a few months ago, but some dealers still have inventory left. A few dealers also mentioned that they had been unofficially accepting bookings for the new E-Class as some customers preferred to wait for the new model. Series production of the new E-Class has recently started.
New Mercedes E-Class LWB India Details
The E-Class LWB is sold in only two markets: India and China. In China, it is available only with petrol engines, while the Indian version will offer both petrol and diesel options. The car headed to India will resemble the model revealed in China, with some country-specific modifications.
The new E-Class LWB will feature two grille designs: a sporty one with the three-pointed star in the centre and a traditional one with a smaller logo on the bonnet. This design choice aims to cater to different customer preferences.
New Mercedes E-Class LWB Interior and Features
Inside, the new E-Class boasts a multi-screen layout, including a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch screen for the passenger (available on higher variants), and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen. It will continue to offer numerous creature comforts and include a reclining rear seat, which is not available in the India-spec BMW 5 Series LWB.
Apart from the new E-Class LWB, Mercedes-Benz India has planned several other launches, including the electric G-Class, an updated AMG GT, and the Maybach EQS SUV. Prices for the new LWB sedan will be announced in the coming months. The launch is expected before the end of 2024.
