New Mahindra XUV300 Facelift Launch Soon – Bigger Touchscreen, Updated Exterior & More

The Mahindra XUV300 has been present in the Indian market for quite some time without any substantial update. This has made the XUV300 fall behind some of its rivals in the Indian automobile market.

Though Mahindra has been working on a facelifted version of the XUV300 SUV for some time now, the launch details seem to be blurred. Now, we can say that the Mahindra XUV300 facelift launch is nearer than ever and the model comes with some exciting new updates.

New Mahindra XUV300 Facelift

Starting with the exterior, we expect the Mahindra XUV300 facelift version to sport LED headlamps along with other changes such as an updated front bumper, grille, rear bumper, and alloy wheels. We also expect the taillamps to now sport 3D elements for premium looks.

Coming to the interior, we expect an updated dashboard design with a larger 10+ inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a digital instrument cluster. That being said, we do not expect much change in terms of seating.

The Mahindra XUV300 comes with a decent feature list and some of these features are still not offered by its competitors. However, thanks to its age, it still misses out on a few attractive features.

As such, we expect Mahindra to equip the upcoming XUV300 facelift with features such as a 360-degree surround-view camera, a larger infotainment unit, wireless charging, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, and much more.

The Mahindra XUV300 flaunts a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, making it one of the safest SUVs in the country. Despite that, we expect the upcoming iteration to feature ADAS tech in the higher variants to further up the safety quotient.

At present, the base 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine (TCMPFi) in the outgoing XUV300 is tuned to produce 108.6bhp and 200Nm of torque, whereas the more powerful 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine (TGDi) is tuned to produce 128.7bhp and 230Nm of torque.

On the other hand, the 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine in the Mahindra XUV300 produces 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. The latter is a class-leading figure and creates a great first impression.

As such, we expect Mahindra to retain the engine options as it is with minimal changes. However, we expect Mahindra to ditch the 6-speed AMT gearbox in favour of a more sophisticated 6-speed automatic transmission.

Coming to the launch details, the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift SUV is likely to be launched around the second half of 2024. This will give the model decent sales momentum ahead of the festive season as well.

Thoughts About The Mahindra XUV300 Facelift

The Mahindra XUV300 is a sub-4m SUV based on the SsangYong Tivoli. That being said, the sub-4m SUV segment is in its most competitive and fierce form, as such, it is not easy for any manufacturer to keep up its sales momentum without any updates.

The launch of the Mahindra XUV300 facelift SUV is expected to come with plenty of features and a more modern-looking interior. As a result, we expect a significant boost in the sales figures for the updated version of XUV300.
