New Kia Carnival Bookings To Open Today: Likely To Be Priced Around Rs 50 Lakh
Kia India will begin accepting official bookings for the new Carnival MPV from September 16, with a token amount of Rs 2 lakh. The 4th generation Carnival is set to launch on October 3. Unofficial bookings have already been happening at dealer levels for several weeks.
The new Carnival will initially be sold as a full import and is expected to be priced around Rs 50 lakh. This price point places it in a unique position, with no direct competitors. The Toyota Innova Hycross tops out at about Rs 30 lakh, while the Toyota Vellfire starts at Rs 1.22 crore (ex-showroom).

Kia Carnival Features and Specifications
Kia India has confirmed several features for the India-spec Carnival. It will include dual-pane sunroofs, second-row electrically adjustable captain seats with ventilation and extendable leg support, power-sliding rear doors, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. Additionally, it will feature dual curved displays, each measuring 12.3 inches, and an ADAS suite.
Other notable features include a head-up display, a digital rear-view mirror, an updated digital key with fingerprint recognition, and ambient lighting along the dashboard. These enhancements aim to position the new Carnival as more premium compared to its predecessor.
Engine Options and Future Plans
The new Carnival for India will continue to be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine, similar to the previous generation model. Internationally, the MPV also offers a 1.6-litre turbo petrol hybrid and a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine.
Initially imported fully built, the Carnival will later be locally assembled by Kia India. This local assembly is expected to reduce prices eventually, although some features might be trimmed during this transition phase.
Expected Pricing and Market Position
The fully imported version of the new Carnival is anticipated to start at around Rs 50 lakh in India. At this price range, it stands alone without direct rivals in its segment.
Alongside the launch of the new Carnival MPV on October 3, Kia will also announce pricing for their EV9 full-size electric SUV. This dual announcement highlights Kia's commitment to expanding its premium offerings in the Indian market.
The new Carnival aims to attract buyers looking for luxury and advanced features in an MPV format. With its premium positioning and extensive feature list, it seeks to carve out a niche in India's automotive landscape.
