New Honda Amaze Launch Today In India – Here Are Our Expectations

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) is all geared up to launch the next-generation Honda Amaze sedan today in India. The company has high hopes on the model and it is one of the most-awaited sedans in the country.

In the Indian market, the Honda Amaze sedan is positioned below the City sedan and competes directly against the likes of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor.

New Honda Amaze

More Upmarket Design

Compared to the previous model, the upcoming Honda Amaze sedan looks a lot more upmarket and resembles the outgoing iteration of the Honda City sedan.

Some of the stand out design elements on the new-gen Honda Amaze sedan include its large front grille, dual LED headlamp setup with integrated DRLs, sleek-looking taillamps, projector foglamps, shark fin antenna, and door-mounted ORVMs.

Premium Interiors

On the inside, the new-gen Honda Amaze also looks very premium with a dual-tone layered dashboard design with plenty of horizontal elements. Furthermore, bits such as the large floating infotainment unit makes the model feel contemporary.

In addition to these features, the new-gen Honda Amaze is expected to feature ADAS tech with advanced safety features such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking. Other safety features include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, hill-hold assist and more.

Same Powertrain

In terms of powertrain, the new Honda Amaze will retain its 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine in the previous model was tuned to produce 90hp and 110Nm of torque. Furthermore, the model could be offered with a choice of either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

New Platform

That being said, the new Honda Amaze sits on an updated platform that is similar to the outgoing City and Elevate models. We expect the use of this platform to make the new Amaze a lot safer and more spacious as well.

The new Honda Amaze is anticipated to start at approximately Rs 7.20 lakh and could reach up to Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec model with ADAS tech.
