New-Gen Honda Amaze Engineered To Undergo Tougher Crash Tests, Aims For 5-Star Rating!

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has introduced the new Amaze sedan in the Asian market. This model is set to compete with vehicles like the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Maruti Suzuki Dzire. As safety becomes a priority for Indian consumers, Honda aims to enhance crash test ratings with this updated version.

The new Amaze boasts an array of safety features, including ESC, a lane watch camera, and six airbags as standard. These enhancements are part of Honda's strategy to achieve higher crash test ratings. The company is targeting 5 Stars in future Global NCAP assessments.

Enhanced Safety Features in New Amaze

At its launch event, Honda highlighted that the new Amaze is designed to excel in crash tests. "In fact, all new Amaze is engineered to conquer even tougher tests than those specified by current standards," stated Honda. This commitment comes as Maruti Suzuki Dzire recently achieved 5 Stars in Global NCAP tests.

Previously, the India-spec Amaze received only 2 Stars for adult occupant safety and none for child safety from Global NCAP. Honda attributed this to missing features like curtain airbags and ESC. The updated model addresses these gaps with a comprehensive suite of 28 safety features.

Structural Improvements and ADAS Introduction

The new Amaze also introduces an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), making it the most affordable car in India with this technology. This system helps drivers avoid unexpected incidents and enhances overall safety on the road.

Honda has improved the body structure of the new Amaze by using 46% high-tensile steel. This upgrade aims to boost structural rigidity and collision performance. In-house crash tests have been conducted to ensure top-level safety outcomes.

The introduction of these features aligns with Honda's goal of achieving better crash performance than current standards require. With these advancements, Honda is confident that the new Amaze will perform exceptionally well in upcoming crash tests.

As the automotive landscape evolves in India, manufacturers like Honda are prioritising safety innovations. The new Amaze reflects this shift by incorporating advanced technologies and robust engineering to meet consumer expectations for safer vehicles.
