Mitsubishi Outlander Tops J.D. Power Multimedia Quality And Satisfaction Study For 2024
In-car technology significantly influences car buyers' decisions, yet dissatisfaction with these systems is common. The integration of smartphones and ease of use are crucial factors for potential buyers. The Mitsubishi Outlander, since its 2021 debut as a 2022 model, has aimed to change perceptions about Mitsubishi Motors. It has won several awards and attracted new customers who previously might not have considered the brand.
The Mitsubishi Outlander achieved a milestone by winning the small/compact segment in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Multimedia Quality and Satisfaction Study. This recognition highlights the vehicle's advanced multimedia system, which includes features like a nine-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wired Google Auto. These features ensure seamless connectivity between devices and the car.
The study conducted by J.D. Power analysed owner experiences with their vehicles' sound systems, including hands-free features. It gathered responses from 99,144 new vehicle owners surveyed after 90 days of ownership between July 2023 and May 2024.
The Outlander's multimedia system offers theater-like sound through an available Bose sound system and Android Auto connectivity. Wireless charging keeps devices connected throughout the drive, while USB-A and USB-C ports provide additional connection options. These technological advancements contribute to customer satisfaction and enhance the driving experience.
Mark Chaffin, President & CEO of MMNA, stated: "From the day we debuted Outlander on Amazon Live – the first time a vehicle had ever been launched on the platform – using technology to reach new customers and using technology to exceed customers’ expectations with their new vehicle has been key to the success of the vehicle in the marketplace."
Sales Growth Driven by Innovation
The Mitsubishi Outlander saw a sales increase of 5.6% through the third quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. While not solely due to its infotainment system's performance, it certainly plays a role in making a strong impression during test drives.
Additional technologies like MI-PILOT Assist offer advanced navigation features such as lane centering assistance and speed control. My MITSUBISHI CONNECT provides services like remote-starting the vehicle and pre-setting cabin temperature, enhancing convenience for owners.
