Mitsubishi Motors North America Achieves 22.1% Increase In Third Quarter 2024 Sales
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has reported a strong performance in the third quarter of 2024, with total sales reaching 31,588 units. Year-to-date (YTD) sales have increased by 22.1%, totalling 82,718 vehicles. The Outlander remains the top-selling model for MMNA, achieving 11,138 sales this quarter, marking a 19.3% year-over-year (YOY) increase and a 6.3% rise YTD.
The Outlander Plug-in Hybrid has also shown impressive results with quarterly sales of 2,279 units, reflecting a YOY growth of 20.8%. This model recently won the Green Car Journal's Family Green Car of the Year award for the third consecutive time. "The Outlander Plug-in Hybrid is an ideal choice for families desiring a versatile vehicle that speaks to electrification and decreased carbon emissions, without requiring sacrifices in capabilities or driving range," said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com.

Meanwhile, the Eclipse Cross recorded its third-best-ever quarter with sales of 4,196 units, up by 26.7% YOY. Its YTD sales stand at 10,184 units, representing a significant increase of 33.2%. The availability boost for the Mirage led to substantial gains as well; quarterly sales reached 10,162 units—a remarkable rise of 152.3%. YTD figures for the Mirage show an increase of 114.3%, totalling 20,024 units sold.
MMNA is advancing its "Mitsubishi Motors Momentum 2030" plan aimed at business transformation through fiscal-year 2030. This strategy includes introducing one new or refreshed vehicle annually from fiscal year 2026 to fiscal year 2030 across various segments to nearly double product offerings. The plan was enthusiastically received during a national dealer meeting in Nashville.
In leadership updates, Frans (Jack) Vossenberg and James (Jimmy) Scarboro have been promoted to Regional Vice Presidents for the Northeast and Southeast regions respectively. These promotions are part of MMNA's efforts to strengthen relationships with dealer partners and support increased vehicle sales under the Momentum plan.
