MINI Cooper S & Countryman EV Launched In India: Prices Kick Off At Rs 44.90 Lakh

The new MINI family has arrived in India with the launch of the new MINI Cooper S and the all-electric MINI Countryman. These models will be available as completely built-up units (CBU) and can be booked at authorised MINI dealers across India or online at shop.mini.in. Deliveries are set to begin from September 2024.

The fifth-generation MINI Cooper S and the third-electrified MINI Countryman blend advanced technology with traditional MINI design principles. They offer a fresh personality while maintaining hallmark driving dynamics.

New Models and Pricing

The ex-showroom price for the new MINI Cooper S is INR 44,90,000. It comes in ten vibrant colours including Melting Silver, Midnight Black, Nanuq White, British Racing Green, Chili Red II, Indigo Sunset Blue, Blazing Blue, Icy Sunshine Blue, Ocean Wave Green, and Sunny Side Yellow. Roof options include body colour, Glazed White or Jet Black for the 'Classic’ Pack.

The all-electric MINI Countryman is priced at INR 54,90,000. It is available in nine striking colours such as Melting Silver, Midnight Black, Nanuq White, British Racing Green, Chili Red II, Indigo Sunset Blue, Blazing Blue, Smokey Green and Slate Blue. Roof options include body colour or Glazed White/Jet Black for the 'Classic’ Pack and Vibrant Silver for the 'Favoured’ Pack.

Design and Features

The new MINI models feature short overhangs, a short bonnet, a long wheelbase and large wheels—typical of MINI's design language. The visual three-part division into the vehicle body, window area and contrasting roof ensures instant recognition. The absence of side scuttles and flush door handles in the MINI Countryman adds to its modern look.

Inside, minimalist design meets digital innovation with features like a hi-resolution 240mm Circular OLED touchscreen display. The new MINI Operating System 9 supports touchscreen and voice control for enhanced connectivity. The innovative MINI Digital Key Plus allows smartphones to function as car keys via the MINI App.

Performance Specifications

The new MINI Cooper S boasts a petrol engine powered by the latest MINI TwinPower Turbo technology. It delivers 150 kW/204 hp at 5,000 – 6,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 300 Nm at 1450-4500 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 – 100 km/hr in just 6.6 seconds with a top speed of 242 km/h.

The all-electric MINI Countryman offers a powerful electric drive with 150 kW/204 hp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km in 8.6 seconds and features a lithium-ion battery with a gross capacity of 66.45 kWh. It provides a WLTP driving range (combined) of up to 462 km.

Comfort and Safety

Advanced assistance systems like Cruise Control and Parking Assistant enhance comfort and safety in the new MINI family. Comfort Access allows automatic locking/unlocking when the key is within 1.5 meters of the car.

Standard MINIMALISM technology includes auto start/stop function, brake energy recuperation and electromechanical power steering. Safety features comprise front passenger airbags, side curtain airbags, Brake Assist, and Dynamic Stability Control among others.

Warranty and Financial Solutions

The new all-electric MINI Countryman comes with a complimentary Smart Wallbox charger with one-time installation. Both models come with standard warranties: two years for unlimited kilometres on both models; additional roadside assistance plans are also available.

BMW India Financial Services offers customised financial solutions including attractive monthly instalments through the BMW 360˚ finance plan which includes assured buy-back options for up to five years among other benefits.

The interior experience is enhanced by textile surfaces created using recycled materials without chrome or leather elements. Ambient lighting further elevates this experience by making even rush hour relaxing.
